Thank you for answering me. I live in Morristown, TN
and Smokey is now about 8 months old. He was a stray
in our neighborhood so before I brought him into my
house I took him to the vet and had him checked out
because I have several other cats. One of my cats is
diabetic. That is when I had him tested for feline
leukemia and it was negative. He was about 6 months
old then. He acted good when I brought him home from
the vet on Monday night. He ate and played but after
I gave him the Interferon he doesn't seem the same.
He didn't eat anything yesterday or this morning. I
am still giving him his Baytril and Clavamox. The vet
added the Clavamox because the Baytril wasn't helping
his fever. At first they Baytrill would help but now
it doesn't seem to be. After they added the Clavamox
his temp. went back to normal. It seems we are going
to the vet every 4 days for this reaccuring fever.
Last week they did X-Rays and nothing showed up. The
vet only said that about euthanasia because of my
other cats. That is the last thing I want to do.
The vet did say we might be figting a losing cause.
Something I didn't want to hear. Our pets are like
our kids to my husband & I. Even though we have only
had him for a few months we love him. I want to give
him a good home for the rest of his life because who
knows what the first few months of it was like. He is
lethargic and just seems like he doesn't want to be
bothered. I don't know what else to do. I am waiting
for the vet to call me when he gets into the office.
They haven't said anything about changing his diet.
Does that help? The vet tells me that he has an
infection somewhere but they can't find where it is.
If anybody has any suggestions I would be grateful.
