Also, in my experience as well as a co-worker's, Revolution was totally ineffective for tapeworms. It was a waste of time and money. We used Droncit, and it worked fabulously.

Pam, using Revolution and Frontline together (even if not dosed at the same time) is going to overdose your pets, and could kill them. I think your vet is wrong to advise this schedule. You shouldn't use one until the other has completely worn off (no coverage over-lap allowed). I called 1-800-petmeds, and asked, and they said that this procedure will KILL the cat due to toxic reactions and chemical interactions. A MUCH better thing to do would be to use Frontline for the external parasites, and then use an oral medication for internal parasites, Drontal, Droncit, Strongid are all options. I use Drontal on my cats because it kills all internal parasites, even tapeworms. I use it once every 6 months, or if I see evidence of worms. Frontline is
used ONLY if I see evidence of fleas.
