My Fred, 15 years old currently has early CRF and was recently treated with I131 for hyperthyroid. He also had an infection which we treated with Orbax, he will have a dental in a week or so and blood work to check where his thyroid is in a month and a half. Currently he isn't getting any fluids or special diets until we see where his next blood work and urinalysis stands. he is slowly gaining back some of the weight he's lost from the hyper-t. And I found a food he seems to really like.

I just wanted to let you know that many on the group have kitties that were diagnosed in pretty bad shape and with agressive fluid therapy and food changes, sometimes phorperous binders and other supplements they are doing great. Some that were in pretty bad shape are still going strong 2, 3 and even more years later. You also need a good vet who knows what they are doing.
