I have prednisolone in 5 mg tablets. I like it better than prednisone
because it's not metabolized by the liver & my Paddy, even tho his liver
values are fine, has a very old liver at 21 1/2 years. I almost never use
prednisone anymore, only prednisolone, & they are identical except for that
one thing.

Dear Michelle:
If you find that you need pred after this refill let
me know. I probably can be of some help! I have the
pred in 5 mgs tablets.
I hope the transition for Lucy and you goes smoothly!
Best wishes!

Thanks. The vet said he will refill for me at least
one more time but to try
to reduce it as fast as I can without it bothering
her. I had put her on
11.25 mg/day and went to 10 mg/day yesterday and
today she has blood on her
stool and is eating a little less again. But solid
stools and acting frisky, so
hope she is just adjusting.

There is no point in stressing Lucy if you don't
have to. I wonder if there
are other sources of pred. Do you have a farm/seed
store around. Sometimes
they have meds for livestock OTC that would require
a prescription for a
pet. I don't know but it would be worth a call.
Lots of prayers for Lucy and all the others. And
for you and all the other
caregivers.
