Hey Dede, I second the motion that you wait several months to get Ki tested. Just keep him stress free and feed him a great diet, and he may surprise you by testing negative. I think the numbers say there's a 40% chance. A lot of us here mix our neg's and pos's, but most of us unknowingly exposed our kitties before we knew about the FeLV. It is very rare for an adult cat to pick up this virus soley through sharing food/water dishes and litter boxes. More intimate contact is needed for the virus to pass, if it does at all.
