Cats teeth are designed for tearing meat off the bone.. Not so much for
grinding food up as with humans... Cats have stronger stomach acid and can swallow and digest larger chunks of food... Thus they can do without teeth and eat most commercial cat food... My cats have never had a problem and have been eating normally within a few hours after an extraction... Often eating better than before when they had pain in their mouth.. Actually tooth problems is a major cause of not eating... And gum problems are big with FeLV+ cats... On the other hand if an infection gets in the jaw, which does happen, it can be very hard to get rid of and can end up killing the cat... My personal opinion... If a tooth is giving problem, just pull it out... And if that means pulling them all out.. so be it... If all they need is cleaning then that is great !!! Tad [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
