I'm the same way....there have been times I've stayed thru surgeries too.  I was there when Mai Mai had a liver biopsy and all sorts of other "procedures."  It makes me very nervous when a vet does not want you around (assuming you are not hysterical or prone to faint at the sight of blood).  Every time that has happened something went wrong.  I can't say that the vet did anything wrong--just that something wrong happened as it can anytime.

I always insist all treatments occur in the exam room with me present (other than surgery, of course).
