Of course you can share diseases, just not all of them. The flu is
zoonotic, think BIRD flu (and has been confirmed in a few cats already too, I
believe), and Rabies.

cats and humans:

more like a "stomach bug")

the VERY BEST reference published by the AAFP, but it's a adobe PDF file, so it
might not be viewable by everyone.
From what I'm reading here, Bordetella is one that causes "cold" symptoms
that is zoonotic between cats and humans, so is Yersinia Pestus, and
Chlamydophila Felis. So.... it's entirely possible, yes.
