Of course you can share diseases, just not all of them. The flu is zoonotic, think BIRD flu (and has been confirmed in a few cats already too, I believe), and Rabies.

Here's a list that shows the common things that can be transmitted between cats and humans:
http://www.avma.org/reference/zoonosis/default.asp is another good scary page that lists a lot of them.
http://www.who.int/zoonoses/en/ is a good general zoonosis link, not specific to felines.
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/EID/vol4no1/smith.htm specifically mentions calcivirus in felines and humans (but it's not a "cold" in humans, it's more like a "stomach bug")
http://www.aafponline.org/resources/guidelines/ZooFinal2003.pdf is the VERY BEST reference published by the AAFP, but it's a adobe PDF file, so it might not be viewable by everyone.

From what I'm reading here, Bordetella is one that causes "cold" symptoms that is zoonotic between cats and humans, so is Yersinia Pestus, and Chlamydophila Felis. So.... it's entirely possible, yes.
