Hello Group, I was wondering if anyone has had a kitty with or without Feline Leukemia that had Petechia and ecchymosis. She also had a mouth ulcer and was bleeding from the gums, and was very weak.
Although, my 11 month old Kitty Lucy Lu was put to sleep, and never tested positive for Feline Leukemia, I was wondering if it could have been in her bone marrow, and that's why it her tests never were positive for the disease. She had severe anemia, and also a mouth also, bleeding of the gums as well. Platelet count was under 50,000 on blood smear.CBC partial report reviewed blood smear disproportionate number of WBCs of the lymphocyte lineage. 11.2K lymphocytes with only 2.2K neutrophils. She was in guarded condition at the hospital. She did receive a blood transfusion, but didn't really help. Her PCV upon on admission to the hospital was 15% and even after blood transfusion it went down to 10%. Also when she was admitted to the hospital: She had a Grade II-III/VI systolic heart murmur which could have been due to the anemia. Thank you. Tammy Zack
