That brings an idea to mind for my "if I ever hit the lottery" cat sanctuary. I
think
I will make one "litter room", and have it with a big overhead door on one whole
wall, facing outside, then, I'll fill it with horse stall shavings, and when
it's
nasty (probably ever other or every 3 days - maybe once a week if I don't have
a lot
of cats), I will just lock the cats out, open the overhead door, and use my
front-end
loader (or bobcat) to strip it out, make a manure pile (again, horse facility
type of
management) out in the back 40 somewhere, bring in the hose, and spray it out
(I'll
make it all washable, with a concrete floor that grades to the outside wall),
turn on
a big fan to dry it, and then add new shavings, close the outside door, go in
and
unlock the cat doors so they can access it again, and be done with it.
