my heart is broken, so is my husband's - I don't know what I'm going to do w/o my little shadow. This is the first time my husband has lost a pet - you didn't have animals in the house where he's from, so my boys were the first time he'd lived with and loved kitties. I miss my boy so much - we were particularly close - he was fine with anything as long as Momma was close. But he was so sick and had lost so much weight and was clearly in pain, even though I'd been giving him buprenex. He was doing that curl-up-in-comfy-sleep-pos'ns, but he'd adjust and readjust every couple of minutes and his eyes never closed - he was simply waiting. He passed very quickly, the vet had hardly put away the needle and gotten out her stethoscope and he was gone. You know that they're going to go first (most likely) but you never think that time will ever actually arrive...
