I am on the Animal Alert S-O-S distribution list and get hundreds of e-mails
daily about cats and dogs on death row – it is enough to drive you crazy and
keep you from sleeping at night., especially when you see photos of those sad
faces with pleading eyes. Usually, these poor animals are scheduled to die the
next morning which doesn’t give enough time to do much about it. Since I
operate a cat rescue, I am already full up all the time, but have managed to
get some off death row to foster, we have kept one real character of a cat, and
have been able to network to find homes for the few luckier ones! If everyone
did one tiny bit, like on this FB site, so much more can be accomplished!
Thanks for getting involved! Natalie =^..^=

I saw this cat on the Pets on Death Row Facebook page--heartwrenching, no
matter how little time he may have on this earth sure would be nice for it to
end with love and not at that awful shelter.

BY TONIGHT....

this is a website for cats in the NYC pound system, which is an absolutely
horrible place. anyone who isn't sick when they get there will be. there's
question about how much of that is the sheer number of critters who pass
through the doors, and how much is really bad management and use of resources.

every day around 6pm EDT, they post the cats who are marked for death the next
day--the shelters are open to serious adopters phone calls til 8pm; they start
euthing at 6am the following day.

the guy we're working on is the second one from the left--if you scroll down a
bit, you'll see his biography; his name is patrick.

the problem with these cats is that no rescue will pull them without having a
definite, approved foster/adopter....

the website has more info than i do.
