Carla,
My 2 positives mix (a lot) with my 8 negatives going on 3 years now. My
cats just get regular yearly vaccinations if they even get that. I have
a feral who lives with us inside that only gets shots every few years
or so, and I'm not real careful with the others' shots. I really
believe that once they've had their series and boosters they're ok.
when i first found i had a positive in the mix i got everyone re-shot
and re-boostered in 2 weeks. since then, we've gone yearly or longer.
my vet said to be more safe, I could booster the negatives' leukemia
twice a year rather than once. but it's too hard and stressful to
catch some of them so I don't.
Cc, one of my positives, hasn't been to vet herself in nearly 2 years.
she's healthy and impossible to catch. she tears you apart if you try.
She wasn't like that before she got sick and i did the twice a week
immunoregulin stuff. she also had eye herpes which required drops every
HOUR, etc... since then, if i try to pick her up she goes ballistic.
unless/until she gets sick, i probably won't take her in... :(
