Carla and everyone-
That is why I will say it again, PLEASE donate your time and money to your LOCAL
rescue groups. Ask to see a tax ID letter if you plan on giving a substantial (or
really any) dontation. Ask what the overhead is and what they spend the money on.
Focus on groups who have widespread, aggressive educational campaigns and offer low
cost or free s/n to low income people. Even if the group just does adoptions (which
most smaller ones do), you money is better spent on you local humane societies. If it
is a very large rescue group, they should have a signifigant portion of the budget
going to public education and low cost s/n. Just my two cents!
