Peggy, have you asked Texas A&M about Staph Protein A?  This is the treatment 
mentioned on the Emergency Vet TV program as being "the only thing for anemia that 
works" or words to that effect.  They may not have been talking about FeLV-induced 
anemia, but this then invited a flurry of posts on FeLVtalk.  Preston Truman used it 
for his cat years ago with success, but it was for a tumor, not anemia as far as I 
know.  I have had a hard time getting any vets here interested in it, but Julie Levy, 
DVM, (whose field in leuk and FIV) didn't write it off totally in her evaluation of 
immunomodulators and other treatments for FeLV, and most of the studies which have 
been done, though not scientifically complete, do show some success.  Could it perhaps 
help Bobby?  Maybe it might at least be worth asking the vet school about.
