I sent this messge wondering if MBK had whip worms but seems to have never gotten delivered, so I'll try again - sorry if it's a double posting. Think I said hook worms, but meant WHIP WORMS or round worms possibly. ----------------------------------------------------------- OK Folks - this is about worms. Sorry, I guess it's not very polite conversation... But ...
Weird - Mr. Black Kitty (FELV/FIV also skinny and stray) apparently passed a slightly bloody bunch mucus stuff with several spaghetti looking things, 4-5" long. (could be upchuck? But think not..) I looked at www.shakervet.com/services and they identify whip worms as 4-5" long and threadlike, and spread by fecal contamination. I'd had the cage open so that he could wander around with Calawalla and I found it on the floor. I've had him on Flagyl for 5 days. Does this make sense? I think I'd better confine him to the cage, so that he doesn't infect Calawalla, probably? Gloria
