Genie, have you tried Cornell Vet School's Consultant - it's an on-line resource geared to vets but the public can use it, too. You click on signs and look at all the "signs" or symptoms they list and check the ones your kitty has, and the system will then bring up lots of possible diagnoses. The more symptoms you can put it, the more it can narrow it down, but it may come up with some things that no-one has thought of yet that may point you in the right direction. I found it very helpful for diagnosing Doodles, my liver shunt kitty, and Callie, my kitty who had liver cancer.
