Thanks Joan.  We pondered pneumonia, but our vet doesn't think that's the case either...  In any event, we never give up, and I don't see any fat lady singing yet!  :-)  Luke definitely fits the family in that respect...

Cory, my cat who had symptoms similar to Luke's had pneumonia, but it did not show up on his x-ray.  Cory, 5 years later is fine, but at the time he was about 7 months old and weighed 3 lbs.  He would not eat, but purred like crazy. Everyone at the Vets' office, said that he would survive, because he was so determined. The first Vet. recommended that he be euthanized even though he was FIP, FELV, and FIV negative and  said that there was no chance he would live without a transfusion and a 10% chance he would live with the transfusion--He never had a transfusion and five years later is just fine.  He was treated with Tetracycline . So keep the faith.
