Denise,
Just had to reply - isn't it funny how our kitties now exactly what
needs to be done. I finally did get a baby scale in order to monitor my
Collette's weight. After a few struggles and really just attempting to
weigh her twice a week, its hilarious because now, if I am not up by
6:30 am she wakes me and by the time I get out to the kitchen to get
their food, she is already sitting on the scale!!! - Like you said, ok,
get it over with, I want to eat.
With our supervised feedings, Cossette has actually picked up a little
and instead of looking like a concentration camp kitty at 7 lbs (she has
a very long body and very long legs), she is up to around 8.5 lbs and
looks good. Antoinette who has always been too overweight (16.5 lbs but
is a short and small boned kitty) is now slimming down to around 13 lbs.
I have to admit though, Cossette and Antoinette don't take to the scale
as easily as Collette did and If I can weigh they every other week, I am
happy.

Salina,

That is great news !! It sounds like your new vet is a much better
than the
last one.

If Buffy is confirmed as FeLV, she will need to stay on the Interferon
throughout her lifetime. But it's real easy to administer though and
not
very expensive. I get 100 ml for $25.00 here in California. At 1 cc a
day,
it lasts quite a while.

My FeLV kitties, Carmine, Lenny and Zinnie (and angels Squiggy &
Laverne)
know that they have to take their Interferon (1cc/daily) first thing
each
morning. After that they get their breakfast. Carmine is the funniest,
he
walks right up, jumps in my lap and opens his mouth for me to squirt it
in
!! Like "Geez - Hurry up already with the medicine --- I WANT TO EAT
!!
:-)

My fur babies and I are sending healing vibes and prayers to Buffy.
Hope
she feels better soon.
