veterinary medicine's policy on intentionally infecting healthy cats
with FeLV. They (at least used to) infect healthy cats. Check

I checked, and most of these researchers are *still* faculty at this
school. Until you receive both an explicit written statement from
this university that they no longer intentionally infect healthy
cats
AND find out (and investigate) this person's 501(c)(3) non-profit
status, be very careful about giving money to them. Take care, and
