Hey Sandii!  MBK is Mr. Black Kitty  - brought him inside in November, I'd been feeding him for about a year (or more!).  Didn't think he could make it thru the winter.  He's pretty awful looking (but sweet), FELV+ and FIV+, and has had diarrhea ever since, with slight remissions.  EXCEPT - recently had Acupunture and Ozone therapy in Hot Springs, AR, and I started feeding him Lamb cat food, and sh-boom!  Normal stool.  Good boy.

He's looking better, but I tried going away for an over-night, and had to kinda change his diet pattern.  Uh-oh, soft stool.   Just hadn't figured out how to get away for the weekend.

IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  IBD is Inflammatory bowel disease.  Sometimes I forget what they stand for!  I think the IBD is more the "current style" of saying it, but I could be wrong.  I said IBS to one vet, and she corrected me and said IBD.  Then the other vet said IBS, so hey, I just don't know!

I do know that the bowel can get irritated in different ways and different areas, and the solutions vary a lot.  If it's the small intestine that's irritated, then adding bulk/fiber is not the solution. Food allergies can play a part.  Digestion of milk is the 1st thing to go and the last thing to return, according to one source.  I tried Lamb and rice (or turkey) because it's blander, I guess, and of course wanted food with no additives. After the treatments, it worked - gave good solid stool.
