HI Jamie,

My Logan, who is going to be 5 next month, has really awful teeth, too.  He is scheduled for a dental in 2 wks.

I take my cats to a feline specialist also & they brought up the interferon w/ me when Simba tested FIV+.  There are 2 vets there & they really seem to be on top of things.  They charge $23.00 for an exam & $20.00 for interferon, already diluted, for 2 mos.  I can't remember what they charge for vacs & bloodwork.  I think I've just become so used to having to pay for these things that I don't even pay attention any more.  Last Sat., I took Kovu in for his FeLV booster & Logan for his annual exam & vacs, plus I bought a case of A/D & Simba's interferon & it came to $118.00.  The owner of the practice once told me that cat-only practices are usually cheaper b/c they have less overhead since they only need equipment for cats.  I think many things tend to cost less in WI in general, tho, (except our property taxes!!!!), so that may account for the difference in vets.

Glad you found a vet you like tho, that's what matters the most!

yvonne
