I've gone as high as 3cc's 3-4 times a day if Luna gets into problem cycle;
according to my vet, it's a relatively benign medication and you can go
pretty high on the dosage. I'm just curious; what color is what you were
given and does it taste like vanilla? I picked up a refill for Luna about
a month ago and it's a pale green color and tastes like vanilla (yep; taste
everything I give them). What she was getting for the 3 years prior was a
pale yellow color and didn't have much of a taste. When I got it home I
called and asked them to go check the large bottle from the manufacturer to
be sure I had been given the right medication and sure enough, what they
poured out was green. I guess they changed at least the color and taste,
and it could just be me, but I swear it's not as effective.

Lactulose dosage is typically 3cc's one to two times daily as needed for
constipation. Very, very sticky stuff and will usually make cats drool.
Try to get it far in the back and down smoothly! Good luck~
