Hi All, I've got ringworm in the house; 6 cats with active problems and who knows how many percolating. I had purchased some Program from California Vet Supply to give to my feral cats that I can't use Frontline on; when it came it was the large dog dosage (409.8 mg). I had subsequently come across information about it's use as a ringworm treatment and worked with Liz re: the dosage. She said that it is safe to give the entire tablet to a cat (I buy the large dog Frontline and syringe 1cc onto the cats because it is so much cheaper, but I know that serious problems can result from overdosage) and she referred me to the Yahoo Cat Fanciers site where I found some info. I was searching thru the archives here on our site and found that someone had posted dosages that are less than the full 409.8. I can easily break the tablets in half, but I am very, very nervous about using this high dosage (even though the toxicity is low). If anyone is currently using it at this off-lable high dosage, I'd really appreciate your experiences or any info you'd like to share.
p.s. I subscribed to the Cat Fanciers site and after 3 days, I can't take it any more; reading the stories of breeding and sick kittens and kittens who died, actually makes me feel physically sick. It just sounds like people are EXPERIMENTING with these animals to make them have a particular external shape or feature or whatever. The site does have some good features and information, but I would definately recommend not subscribing to the mail portion; it was disturbing to me. Julie
