I just received "I Love Cats" July/Aug issue and a Dear Tabby letter was included that just had me in stitches.
I quote:
"Dear Tabby: Kiki, my new kitten, is 3 months old, and everyone is telling me I should get her spayed. I'm not too sure I want to do this, because I happen to thing it's against nature to alter a cat. Also, she's going to be a strictly indoor cat, so I don't see how she can get pregnant. Even if she did by some chance get pregnant, I wouldn't mind watching her give birth to a litter of kittens. It seems to me that to prevent Kiki from "doing what comes naturally," I'm interfering with the natural order of things. What are your thoughts on this? "
OOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh for an email address on this person. How does she have the gall to even write this letter knowing it may be published!!!! I would be so embarrassed by my ignorance.
Btw, Dear Tabby wrote a very nice comeback about behavior when in heat and possible future medical problems and such. It was very well written for the uninformed. If it were me, I would have said, "are you stoopid or something?"
If anyone wants the Dear Tabby response, I'll type it up and send it.
