We are on the same page really...especially on the point of responsible pet
ownership. I just get so sick of the "superiority" thing some people seem
to claim to have over animals and needed to vent. You know, the "we humans
have a right to over-populate and take over the earth but animals don't even
have a right to exist" mentality thing. That's why I also support Planned
Parenthood International and other population control organizations in
addition to animal rights causes. I think the human population is getting
way out of control. We humans have no natural enemies to "keep our numbers
down" (other than ourselves!) and medical advances continue to allow us to
live longer and longer. If the world-wide population continues to
sky-rocket they way it have over the last hundred years or so, we WILL run
out of natural resources (land, water, clean air, food, etc.) eventually and
will have stripped all of the animals natural habit away from them. Just
thinking of how much things have changed over the last 100 years, it makes
me shudder to me to think of what the world will be like when my
great-grandchildren are alive.
