I'm so sorry to hear about Cupid. I was hoping he'd get better. You did the right thing as hard as it was.

Early this morning I took Cupid to the ER vet and helped him to the bridge. He
seemed to get worse by the hour the last day and a half and I had decided when I
took him in for his next round of shots later today, I would let him go. But he
started to cry out this morning and I just took him right away. Even though he
cried off/on, he did not appear to be in great pain--I think mostly
confused....he had gotten very wobbly on his feet and when couldn't get up
finally, he started to cry a little. He was unable to stand and it was clear it
was certainly time. Up until then he had been able to move short distances and
find a place to sleep :(
So while I am very sad, I knew this was coming today. He actually lived much
longer than we all thought after getting the terrible stomatitis 2-3 years ago.
I will miss his beautiful blue eyes and the ! way he would talk the whole ride to
the vets but I am relieved that he is no longer suffering.
Thanks for all of your help in dealing with his stomatits, I learned a great
many things on this list which I truly believe helped him live this last year or
so--the supplements and treatments, etc. My other two FELV+ babies right now
(knock wood) do not have any outward signs and I just need to focus on keeping
it that way.
