So happy you're back.  I can't imagine all you have been though and I'm glad you are home.
 
Poor Nicky!  I bet the stress of having you gone is what caused his little slide.  He should pick up now that you're back!
 
If that tooth can't come out, I'm not really sure what to do for the gum irritation.  I wonder if any of the pediatric teething products they sell could be used on the gum where it's being irritated; they generally have something to numb the area and also something to help heal.  Benzocaine, maybe is the ingredient that comes to mind?  I guess you'd need to check the ingredients and then ask the vet if there was any issue using them with cats.
