This is what I do, and frequently used for kitty colds. Get some 3cc syringes (no needle of course) from your vet.

Get some Lysine capsules or powder - lysine is an amino acid with anti-viral properties. Get some vitamin C powder (I like Rainbow Light, because of the taste). Mix 250 mg lysine with 250 mg Vit C and 1 - 2 cc water or tuna juice or something. Syringe it to kitty morning and evening.

I multiply the recipe and make enough to keep 3cc syringes in my fridge, then I go to the fridge, get one out, and squirt with little squirts into the side of the mouth, with my left hand behind kitties head.

Others have different techniques, like mixing with food, but this is what works for me.

Actually, I use this for myself (no syringes though - I tend to cooperate -ha), and take 250-500 mg lysine and 2g vitamin c mornings.

Hope this helps -

Gloria

Does anyone know how long a cold last for a cat? Bailey has been sniffling ans sneezing since we got him. And does anyone know what you can give a cat to help get rid of a cold or treat some of the symptoms? The vet sais he seems healthy. He tested negative for felv and fiv so we are really happy about that. If anyone has any advice, thanks in advanced.
