Norm & Janet,

I wanted to add, I'm sorry to hear Twiggy tested positive.  Has she been tested twice yet?  When I went through my intitial testing of the 26 who were originally exposed, I had 4 who tested positive for exposure (in March 2000) who tested negative on both the retests in June and September.

I also have a seperate litter scoop for my positve guys - I did that when FIP showed up so I wouldn't bring that virus into the FeLV group on the litter scoop.  It also limits other kinds of infections from finding their way in.

As some of you might know, our beloved Millie passed away recently. She was FeLV postive. I am heartbroken to say that her best friend, Twiggy (6 months old) has also tested postive for FeLV. I have noticed that a few of you have more than one cat in a household with one or more FeLV+ cats. At this point, I do not want to get another cat as I do not want to risk giving a new cat the leukemia virus. My question is, for those of you who have multiple kitties in a household with at least one FeLV+ cat, how do you deal with the virus, or the scary and likely possibility of cross infection? I know offhand that the leukemia shot is not very effective, and that only about 30% of kitties become totally immune after exposure. Thank you kindly for all your help and advice. Hugs to all the kitties, and the kitty mommies and daddies out there. Janet and Norm __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool.
