Lora, There is no need to apologise, you know what you know from your experiences and research and believe me if you ask ten different vets the same question about ANYTHING you will most certainly get ten different answers. I based what I said mainly on my own personal experience and I feel with Bailey anyway we have been lucky. This was not the case with my previous 5, three of whom I lost in a 15 month period and Buddie is my only living survivor of that time (as I said Teenye turned negtive and remained so the the last 8 yeras of her life). I think it's very interesting how others experiences are different from my own and I want to hear them so I can be more knowledgeable about this whole disease. You in no way stepped on anyone's toes, we all come from different enviornments and have different situations, and I think we are all old enough to take anything anyone say's to us with a grain of salt. I agree with some things others say and not with ohter things, but like you said everyones experienves are different ... the more we know the more empowered we become, so share anything and everything you know. I'm sure we will all take something from anything somebody else has to share.
As an example (and I'm sure alot of people on this list will disagree), I do not hold Cornell in very high regard where FeLV is concerned, so much of the info on their website about FeLV is old, old, old and outdated. SO if that is truly how they feel about FeLV and according to their website it is, I would never seek them out for info on this disease. On something else I wouldn't have a problem consulting with them, this is my personal preference and I base it on the experiences I have had searching their website (it has been awhile since I checked their site for FeLV info though, so maybe I'll have to browse on over and see if anything has changed). -- Belinda Happiness is being owned by cats ...
