Belinda, I have to agree with you Belinda, 100% when it comes to vets and Cornell.
Each vet you talk to it's like talking another language. One vet I went to was recommanding having a air vent system and gloves and a suite when around a felv cat (hello) My vet was not too much up on felv but was very open to things. I am lucky that he is open to me and my holistic things also and suggestions from this group. I find the holistic vets are better in the idea and ways of felv My own personal experience is that what works for one cat doesn't work on the other cat. I do believe you can get more info on this group than most vets. As for ages I found that cats that are over a year old have a better chance to survive felv. But you have one of the oldest cats living with felv that I know of or should I say had felv the longest. I also think the type of felv virus they have meaning what strand is it. So cats can live a long time most cats can live a few years and some don't make it more than a few months. My vet even said there are a few strands of the virus but he said that there were not enough studies done to detect which strand and how to tell a, b or c.
