Yes, I removed the patch Friday morning 100%. She seemed better Friday
and Saturday AM but today she's sorta back to her un-normal self

Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I'm certainly not a vet, but
have been very close to people who used Fentanyl, and the doctors,
nurses, etc, who dealt with that. If it were my situation, I'd remove
the Fentanyl patch totally. It can kill her. If she's drool.ing and
eyes rolling back, really , watch out. It's too much.
Try it without the patch.

Hi all,
As some of you may remember, I picked up a local adbandoned kitty and
brought it to the vet where Tigger was diagnosed with FIV and three
cracked teeth. The Dr. recommended to get the teeth removed to
prevent infection, etc.
I had this surgery performed Wednesday and she was brought home Wed.
night with a Fentanyl patch (and the preverbal cone) and they told us
she would probably be a little drowsy from the surgery and the tooth
pain. Obviously we got some soft food (and baby food) for here
to consume.
Friday AM, she was still behaving really lethargic and not
eating/drinking too much. They advised us that, she could have had a
reaction to the patch which happens in some cats, so remove it. We
did this Friday and she seemed to get some energy back during the day
friday and we deceided to watch her water / food intake Saturday and
today to see how she's progressing.
And she's not. She's still extra letharigic, still drooling/licking
lips (presumably from the pain in the teeth) and she seems to be only
eating the baby food with a tiny bit of water (which she is devouring
BTW). No water from her dish in two days - she goes up to it,
sniffs it, and goes on her merry way.
I am very concerned about her getting dehydrated and she really
hasn't done much all day and I think she's gotten a little worse. I
will be bringing her down to the Vet tomorrow AM but I wanted to get
your thoughts on if the pain patch really set her back a lot due to
her being FIV+?
Thanks a lot,
Dave
