I really don't understand the big deal everyone is making about mixing FIV+ cats with negative ones. It's not that easy to transmit the FIV cat to cat. It takes a bite.
We currently have an FIV+ cat who has lived inside with our negative cats for several years. This is our 2nd FIV+ cat. We've never had any issues with the others being infected. In fact, my 17 year old has been around both of our FIV+ males & he's negative & healthy (except for the usual geriatric cat stuff)! I keep seeing all these cats for adoption that are FIV+ & people not wanting to mix them. I think this is crazy. These cats deserve better. I've been wanting to get that off my chest for a while.
