vet today. (It's his cat, I have two and this was his
first cat adoption - it didn't really go as expected

surprise) but the vet thought Gary looked pretty good,
didn't need fluids, and was about to prescribe some of
the pills that act as an appetite stimulant.
To backtrack, Gary drank almost a whole can of kitten
formula last night but still no food.
But first the vet decided to try kitten Science Diet
to see if she would eat. Gary acted as disinterested
as usual but they worked with her and she eventually
ate a little piece off the table, they ended up
dumping th! e can on the table and she ate almost all of
it! The vet thinks she was just afraid she was going
to suffocate every time she ate and once she realized
she wasn't, she was willing to eat!
So my b/f got a couple more cans of SD for kittens (I
know, not great but at this point we were willing to
let her eat candy all day if she wanted - her
"regular" food is Natural Balance.)
So I hope this is the light at the end of the tunnel
for this URI and hopefully we won't have to go through
this again for a LONG time!
Thanks for all your advice. It looks like everyone
has tips and tricks that have worked in the past and
now I have some of my own. :) I'll be sure to keep up
so I can be prepared for the next infection.
