well, gloria, let me tell you how one of darling little persians caused a
flood, many moons ago....

caity (caitlin northumbrian smallcat--don't ask) was quite the experience.
there's the "climbing the brick fireplace her first day home, stymied by
mantel" story; the "opening the heavy kitchen drawer to get out the cat food
only to discover caity INSIDE the food bag" story; the "finding caity inside
the ovenbox of the old open-work 40s stove where the food was NOW stored"
story; the "there is NOT supposed to be a black persian sitting on the
middle shelf of the refrigerator when you open the door" story. but back to
the flood:

take one kitchen sink with some dishes waiting to be washed, and covering
the drain. take one easily manipulated lever-type faucet. add in an
over-the-sink window. place two or three decorative things on said
windowsill. place one persian brat on the windowsill to knock said
knick-knacks OFF the windowsill in just the correct position to turn the
faucet on. watch the sink fill with water which cannot drain fast enough,
and you get one black persian huddling in the corner of the kitchen, away
from the 3" of water draining off into the dining room. (this is a space of
20 minutes or so while i was out shopping....) voila, a flood!

(darn, i adored that cat....)

How can little kittens cause a flood?  Sorry, had to ask.  Gloria

My kittens still need homes. I have a prospective
home for two of them but I need homes for the
other three. My partner said that they could stay
here indefinitely as long as they don't
jeopardize our housing situation, but today they
caused a flood in our bathroom that leaked out
into the apartment complex hallway and we had a
mad scramble to explain to the head of
maintenance.

So I really need to find them homes soon before
we get evicted because of them. If anyone knows
of someone considering adopting an FeLV positive
cat, please let me know. They are all black and
about 5 months old. Everyone is otherwise
healthy, Chili seems to be sensitive to the heat
and overexertion. Two girls and one boy are in
need of homes. Two girls might have a home, I
have to contact this woman again and find out
what the deal is.

Please help, I'm starting to get a little
overwhelmed with 8 animals and a baby.

Thank you,
Melissa and the kittens in NJ
