My personal doc doesn't care. However when I worked for a doc and a kid came in with an animal bite fm his own dog, doc was mandated to report and the AC fussed at the owner and the doc. Ya never know! I stick with the stray gray or black whatever, hey, it was at the rest area on the interstate out of this county.

You need to watch those kind of stories tho. The report is still written up, only now Animal Control has a copy of it and the next few little black kitties (or cats matching the description of the one you stated) that are caught within a 1/2 mile radius are marked as a possible biters, and if unclaimed are held to be destroyed instead of adopted out.
Its ok to tell a doctor that it is your own animal that bit you. The only problem with outside agencies comes when someone presses charges against you because of an animal bite or if the person bitten was a minor or elderly person. Doctors and nurses have pets too and most understand that a bite can occur from trying to administer medication, clipping nails, or playing too roughly, and if its your own animal that bit YOU, there isn't any stink made unless it happens multible times. PLUS, this way, you don't have to worry about rabies shots.
