HI Kristen and bless you for caring for this kitty.  The medication most of us use is called Interferon.  I believe it has helped my kitty out tremendously..and we are actually in the process of trying to get the FDA to approve the feline version for import into the US..

SIDE NOTE....Joy Marley of the Marley Fund here in NC replyed to me today (after I sent her an email about what has been on our list latley)  Her group along with Bayer and Virbagen are working on getting it and BAYBPUM(sp) approved for use in the US!!!!!!

Vomitting could be caused by MANY things..food being only one of them...what kind are you feeding her..it should be a high quality (preferbly natural) food.  You are deffinantly doing the right thing by researching teh disease and by going to another vet.  You will find that ALL of us on this list have gone through what you are going through with vets being unwilling/uncaring enough to help.  May are uneducated, or their education is outdated on the subject....it is really sad.  Keep looking untill you find the right vet.

What area are you in..somone on the list may be able tor ecomend a vet to you.

there are other supplements to give kitty as well.

I use Echenacia (only when she is sick)
Vitamin C
Ginsing
L-Lysine

And of course the oral interferon..and some other stuff I cant think of off the top of my head...I have them list on Akira's website...its link is at the bottom...

Good luck
