Let me clarify Nina---it was months, but off and on. He would get better
after 3-4 weeks (ie no signs of diarrhea outside the box); then I would
gradually introduce the regular food again. Everything wd be fine with
him then for another couple of weeks then the uncontrollable diarrhea wd
start again, poor thing. Probably the longest single period I had him on
the chicken exclusively (I pureed it with chicken broth that I made) was
4-5 weeks. When I asked the vet once about whether the chicken was
nutritionally complete, she said no--I should add a vitamin. (She never
said that upfront tho!)
I think after I eliminated everything I started afresh with the L-Lysin,
and then the Vit Min mix--I didn't eliminate the Vit Min Mix individual
ingredients. I figured I would see how it went down as a whole first.
And it was ok.
And you know, I can't be sure that Snoball doesn't still have diarrhea,
but at least he always makes it to the box these days. Which is better
for his ego, at least.
Good luck with Gypsy. Kerry

Kerry,
Thank you for the post about Snoball and diarrhea. I have been giving
Gypsy boiled and pureed chicken breast and rice for about two weeks. I
haven't seen any results and was starting to get discouraged about
whether or not it was helping. I had no idea I might have to keep her on

it for months! I'll also cut out all the supplements, except the
probiotics, (she's neg but I add them to her food when I do everyone
else's).
