I was wondering if you had any success with treating stomatitis in cats,
other than the use of steroids and dentals? My 7 year old feline leukemia
positive boy, Jimi Too Cool, does pretty well except for his poor mouth,
which is extremely painful for him. I give him supplements at home plus
human Interferon but he usually needs to see the vet every 2-3 months for a
steroid shot. I give him L-Lysine, vitamin C, vitamin E, Co Q-10 and
Pet-Tinic.

Feline stomatitis is one of the most difficult diseases to treat, and it is
even harder in FeLV positive cats. Very few therapies are proven effective.
Steroids are beneficial as they reduce inflammation and pain in the mouth.
Some cats benefit from antibiotics that treat anaerobic infections, such as
clindamycin. Another treatment that helps some patients is bovine
lactoferrin (you can do a Google search to find sources) and a
hypoallergenic diet. Sadly, relief for some cats only comes when they have
dental extractions done (that was the case for one of my own cats). I do not
find human interferon very helpful, nor any of the supplements you
mentioned.
