I am so, so sorry. That is horrible. My Buddy, who was also positive
(and only 18 months old) and died of anemia (probably from lymphoma or leukemia)
got a huge gaping wound on his back from scratching where I was giving him
fluids. All the skin on the spot just came off and it was like looking right
into his body. I had no idea that it had to do with the anemia until you just
wrote what you did. It is horrible to remember, and of course I will
always remember it, just like you will always remember this. But please
take some comfort in the fact that Tai was still feeling a little bit
affectionate, and that she went while still in those last lucid moments. I
waited too long with Buddy, I think. He went on his own, and was so
uncomfortable during his last day.
Much love and comfort,
Michelle
