Grace and doxycycline

As I told you in my last update on Grace and Jazz (the feline interferon 
kitties), I had been cutting the dose of Grace's doxycycline down, (I 
was at a morning dose, every other day).  She was doing phenomenally 
well.  When I spoke to my vet's office they told me I might as well stop 
giving her dox, because at that protocol it wouldn't do her any good.  
Apparently it's effects are non-existent if it's not maintained in the 
body, I forget if it's suppose to be every 12 hours or 24.  Well, I 
stopped giving it to her two days ago, and this morning she's not her 
perky self.  Now, I know how hyper-vigilant I can be, and I may be 
imagining all this, but I swear, if she gets sick again, I'm going to 
scream, pull my hair out, and just possibly run away from home!
