It is even rarer for a cat to survive it. I cannot help but think my vets walk on water. I thought I was going to lose him. He didn't eat much food for 3 weeks. At one point, he could not walk or breathe regularly. It was Magellan who was treated and he was a difficult patient. He set a clinic record for tantrums. My vet was wonderful with him though. They had the pharmacist create a deworming cocktail that Magellan would not eat. They had another one mixed with various flavors until they had one he would tolerate. They still laugh about him because he got more dewormer on the staff and office walls than in him. He is very healthy and energetic now. He is my most athletic cat who cannot walk because he must run.
