I agree bravo to you, I also do not like the way my humane society is run, they are a no kill shelter, but they do not take care of the animals that well either, it always stink and there is not much air movement in the area where the cats are kept. I have donated time and money to them I just could not do it anymore, I did not have the heart. Four of kittes were adopted three from that shelter....well actually my mom took two into foster care, and the kitten were not even 6 weeks and so deathly ill, she got them all healthy and happy, then at 9weeks the shelter wanted the kitten back to "fix" them. My mom thought they were too young so she kept them. Since then I really can not go back to the shelter, because they were really upset....that was when I realized it was more a money thing to them instead of a loving thing, the kitties were happy and healthy, my mom was going to take pictures and email it to them so they could post them up on their site...but they wanted them ba!
ck, then
they wanted my mom to pay for them.....Ok sorry that is enough of that, but they are Cleo & Wassi on the about us page on my website www.prettykittykat.com Amber is my Positve kitty and Tigger is my grouch then you have Candy my sweet thing and Snowball, god rest his soul.

Faye Lewis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: My cats fall in this category too. I took 6 more cats in last June. They were headed to the Humane Society which is not well run here. They would have been put in a cage for 28 days and then to death. I neutered/spayed mama and the litter. I brought them home. I had them tested and had them separated for 90 days from my original crew. That was very hard to do. I spoil them, get their illnesses treated. Plenty of toys. Feed super premium foods. No chemicals allowed on the premises (weed killers, etc.) They get brushed regularly and have sparkling clean litter boxes. They have lived with me 7 months. Those 7 months were a whole lot more than they would have had if I hadn't taken them. Can I promise they will never get feline leukemia? No. Whatever time they have though is more than they were going to get otherwise. I wasn't planning to adopt any more but what could I do? It is high quality time no matter how long it is. All 9 are negative. Life really does not have many guarantees especially if you are a feral kitty.
