I have a cat that I have had about 4yrs and I still can not touch her.
She gets along with all my other cats. The reason I took her in is that
after she was trapped she turned out to be FeLV+. I think that she had
been someone's pet. she has just never been able to trust again. That's
ok with me. She knows she is loved and wanted.
You just never know. I had a feral that was a daughter of a feral. After
she was trapped, fixed and returned to where she was trapped she set
there outside and screamed until she was let inside. I kept her in a
condo for 2mos as I wanted to be sure I could handle her before I let
her out of it. The first day out of the condo she turned out to be worth
her weight in gold. I have a "Fenced in" patio. I had purchased a "Cat
Door" and I had tried every thing I could to think of to get my cats to
use it. NO LUCK. my cats would just go to the patio door and wait for me
to open it. Well that first day, the new cat, Mrs. Peabody, walked up to
the cat door and went thru it. It was interesting to watch my other
cats. They looked at each other then looked at the pet door then looked
at each other again. Then one by on they went thru the pet door.
