sour cream

So Simon loves sour cream, I discovered today. He vomited a lot of what he ate yesterday and this morning, and this evening he only wants to eat sour cream. I gave him about 6 or 7 fingerfuls and a few larger dollups.  I had read somewhere (maybe an email frfom Kathy?)  that cultured dairy, like sour cream and yogurt, are ok for cats and do not cause diarrhea the way milk does. Do you know if that is true, and if it is ok to give him as much sour cream as he wants? He has not had much nutrition in the last two days, and wil only take a lick or two at everything else, even the liver shake which he was vacuuming up until yesterday, so I would like to give him as much sour cream as he wants (within reason-- he is still not that hungry, so we are not talking about a bowlful here).
