Yes! My positive Patches does exactly the same thing-- pulls the hair
out of her belly and back legs. This is what I do, and what helps.
The vet told me to give her 1/6 of a Benadryl pill twice a day. She is hard to
pill, and it was defeating the purpose (calming her anxiety) to have to tackle
her to do it, so I now get the Benadryl compounded at a compounding pharmacy
into cream that I put on the skin inside her ear twice a day (to get a compound,
the vet has to call in a prescription, even though Benadryl is otherwise over
the counter). It helps enormously. I also have a Feliway pheremone
plug-in and I spray Feliway around the space twice per day. Both of these
things get the overgrooming under control. If I run out of Benadryl or forget to
spray Feliway, either one, she starts at it again.
Hope this helps,
good luck,
Michelle
