Hi, We are currently moving across to a Virtual Machine (vagrant and virtualbox) and container (docker) based method for distributing FEniCS. This provides a completely consistent environment for all users of FEniCS across various platforms.
For new users we recommend the approach described here (use Option 1): https://bitbucket.org/garth-wells/fenics-virtual/src/4efc1c04b8c83b50497d2c1e7d239019bd429569/vagrant?at=master We also have a more advanced branch which we have yet to merge into master here: https://bitbucket.org/garth-wells/fenics-virtual/src/8d633f589787411ba28446678e1845486efb4fe7/?at=vagrant-docker You should be up and running with FEniCS with around 3 lines in the terminal and this will work on virtually any platform.
