Greetings, ----- Original Message ----- > Numbers are, in fact, the only thing that really matter in this.
I disagree... but then again I don't do any social media nor do I have (or want) a cell phone. > A) 10 videos with 50 views each. > B) 1 video with 500,000 views. As a viewer of such videos... I definitely prefer A. Any other questions I can answer for you? Again, given time... and assuming the topics and presenters are of reasonable quality... I'm sure the SELF video viewer count will pick up. The numbers given are only for the YouTube postings... and perhaps they have been distributed in other places as well... so the numbers you see may or may not be indicative. To drill my point in even further... people care more about presentation videos more closely to when the show happened rather than months or a year later. I think you'll agree with that point. I in no way mean to make this a LFNW vs. SELF contest. I've never been to SELF but I've been to LFNW about 9 times. Which do you think I prefer? As one would expect, there are a number of Linux-oriented organizations who send their people to many conference all over the US and abroad... and there is a certain amount of content that is duplicated across them... with a decent amount being local. SCALE had their videos up within days of their conference (with some being posted before it was over). They did that by just sticking a camera in each room and immediately posting it to YouTube... so all of the content was posted... in 6-8+ hour videos... with multiple presentations (all that happened in a particular room) per video. Not the most elegant way to do it... but as a watcher of such videos... I appreciated it being accessible ASAP... assuming reasonable quality (content and playback).
